Google released its improvement to search. Christened 'Google instant' the search is now a smarter business.
Google will automatically refine and update your search as you type your words in the search box. And then all you have to do is to look at the newly refined search and if they are what you were looking for. If yes, you dont need to type any further since google has done it for you already. Just click the results you wanted to see. According to Google, this feature is available in chrome, firefox, safari and explorer browsers currently. Also it is not yet released for mobile, it will be soon though. They say this can lead to a saving of 2-3 seconds on an average per search task. This is good. For those who are concerned about something offensive showing up in the search results, Google states that you can turn on their 'safesearch' feature on to prevent this. Google instant is an optional feature and you dont have to use if you dont want to. Also if your connection is very slow, the feature will be automatically turned off. In my opinion, it is too early to say how good or bad this development is but it seems to be a smart new feature so far. With every new development, there come a lot of side-effects that need to be weighed in through experience and examination before it can be reliably said that it is definitely a win-win. There may be some who would question the amount of privacy-concerns users are now exposed to. How much does Google know about your search patterns and habits. I think, most of it is just a hype. The technology of today can only say whats being searched from a certain IP address but it doesnt have any way to know who the person behind that search is definitively. So far so good. Well done Google. Whats next?
